Why I need to Speak Up?

Pouring My Heart Out To MM LEE (Written Not Send)

24 July 2012

Dear MM Lee,

“The worst thing that can happen to humanity is to forget the rest of itself, to not see beyond the day-to-day activities of survival, to not know that there is much more to Life, that there are great things yet to take place. Humans are not anywhere near being finished with what is possible. Hopefully, they will continue to live so that they can realize this.”

My love for God, Lee Kuan Yew and my mother are the reasons for my existence. The work that I have done so far is essential in order to uplift our society and provide hope to our people so that we can be united as one through our collective consciousness. This could not be achieved through money gains, but only through the love for the greater good of humanity. The worst thing for Singapore is when the people could not feel MM’s soul, thus could not see or understand what he is trying to achieve for all of us in the past four decades.

In my younger days, I remembered vividly what my mother said, “Mr Lee Kuan Yew has done so much for the people, but they don’t care for him, the people just complain and kept asking for more, it is so sad.” This means someone has to take care of him, so in silent, I chose myself to be his spiritual partner to enable the people to feel his soul.

In The Straits Times August 9, 1998, this was what Mr Lee Kuan Yew said, “I’m not a deeply religious person, so when you talk to me about the soul, my question is: What is a soul? If you say it’s the spirit of a man, I’ll reply: “Well, that’s being upbeat or downbeat, being optimistic or pessimistic, which in turn depends upon the neurological make-up of a person and the stimuli on that neurological system. When you talk to me about the soul, I cannot define it. Are you talking about something ethereal that exists within a person and continues after he’s gone physically? I do not believe that”.

“To free your mind is to free your soul” – Sunflower Chong.

Creativity starts from a BELIEF

Firstly, I needed to take this spiritual journey to bring out the power of my own soul. With this success, I wanted to prove to our people that if Singaporeans are not creative, the fault does not lie with the system or Lee Kuan Yew. Creativity is driven by a free mind; this means that if we know how to free our mind, our spirit will soar to a higher plane. Last but not least, I hope to create a grand monument of MM Lee’s legacy at Marina South Downtown, one that would embody his true spirit of his work – Living in Harmony.

The work of Leonado da Vinnci is about creating art onto architecture but if the vision of MM Lee’s legacy could be achieved this means that even if he is not physically present in person, anyone who enter this site can feel the presence of this great man and his soul. In time to come, his soul will soar to the four corners of the world and will be the shining light not only for Singapore but for the rest of the world too because I foresee many leaders of the world will send their able men to our shores to learn from us about how to live in peace, harmony and unity.

Munger praises Singapore and Lee Kuan Yew.mp4

Therefore, it is worrisome to know that MM Lee could not define the spirit and soul, which is the shining armour for Singapore’s success to reach our goal of a true renaissance city. How are we going as a nation and people to help him understand the power of the soul? Hence, I got to do the walk instead of the talk by embarking on this spiritual journey to explore the unknown and achieve the impossible.

I’m very confident that once we are able to achieve this goal, MM Lee will free all of us and not like most people who believed that once MM Lee leaves this world, then we will be free to achieve greatness for Singapore. For this reason I needed to take this spiritual journey alone to bring his work to light that he is truly a man with a great soul and World Harmony Day is the essence of his work for greater humanity.

I know “God didn’t have time to make a nobody, only a somebody. I believe that each of us has God-given talents within us waiting to be brought to fruition. “- Mary Kay Ash. I wanted to live to see the day MM Lee legacy will be cast on stone. I would like MM Lee Kuan Yew to live till the ripe old age of 100 years to pile the foundation of the new renaissance city at Marina South Downtown. Under PM Lee leadership I have full confidence that we can reach this ultimate goal of a new renaissance city that will embody MM Lee’s true spirit, which will inspire and touch others for many generations to come.

After I have posted the stuff on Universal Education in Spirituality, I feel elated and I told Grace Liao, a Chinese National who had been living in Singapore for about a year and this was what she said, “Does Lee Kuan Yew approves it?” A flash came over and I saw myself in a class discussion with regards to the topic of religious understanding. We were discussing about whether it was wise for the government to just control by getting people to tolerate one another instead of enabling the people to have a dialogue to communicate with one another better, because the balloon might burst if we keep tolerating without understanding why we need to do so in the first place.

Even during those times in the late 60s when we did not agreed that tolerance is the key to harmony, we believed we need to push it further by promoting the beauty of all religions. But our teachers told us that was not possible because Lee Kuan Yew will not allow us to talk on race, religion and politics as these were very sensitive issues. Putting food on the table was far more important than feeding the minds in the spiritual way. My teachers were very sarcastic and told me to join the opposition party. They added that when I run the government then I can change the entire education system that will embrace such teachings.

I am not a well-educated person but I have many ideas that may sound bizarre to most Singaporeans. My teachers told me that under the PAP government, such ideas could not be achieved because Lee Kuan Yew did not allow us to talk on race, religion and politics, which to me, are highly important for our souls and minds.

I was very blessed to meet people like Mr Brian Jenner who wrote down all my thoughts. He is very interested in this kind of stuff but his wife is the opposite. It was not easy for me to spend time with Brian to brainstorm ideas further. When we were together, his wife was not pleased as she felt that her husband was wasting his time doing nonsensical things and not getting paid for them. Brian forked out his own money to support WHD 2006 without his wife’s knowledge.

For WHD 2003, I found out from one of the civil servants that one of the Ministers gave them a call to stop our activity and since then everything went haywire like the world has fallen down on us. I cannot believed that my kind intentions to do good for our community had instead got me into much trouble. In 2006 the police said that it was a mistake to give me the license to stage such an event in 2002.( If I had applied for the license then I might not have received it thank goodness I got Suntec City to do so because they were the one who got me and my daughter to host World Harmony Day at the Fountain of Wealth.)

The teachers from Ngee Ann were very excited with my ideas especially after they had gone through the Butterfly Story. They can see the possibility of expanding it further by creating animation for religious study to work on fostering harmony. They told me that when they were asked to do something, they know it will be used. They said to me, “Sunflower, let’s say we do this animation work for you free of charge, how are you going to teach the children, do you have permission from the government already?” I said, “Never mind lah, because once you talk of religious study, you will frighten the government, but if we show them the real stuff in this manner in a non-confrontational and subtle manner, maybe the government will change their minds.” They told me they are not idealistic like me, as educators in the system they know what can work and what cannot and religious study is a strict No-No for the government. Then I felt sad for their pragmatism and fear which blocked their considerations for a worthy contribution for a better and purposeful cause.

The civil servants that I have met said that I am a brave person. When I bought an Easter card for DPM Lee Hsien Loong many years ago my daughter said, “Mama, you are very brave.” I replied, “Greta, I was at the card counter and when I look at the cards, I saw Lee Hsien Loong face in a flash, so this means God wants me to send this card to him.” I told her we don’t need permission to sing praises to our leaders as it comes naturally from the heart.

I write to you with the hope that you would help push this agenda further, what I mean is the spiritual education. This would require a lot of money to develop this kind of education programm. The civil servants and intellectuals told me not to be so stupid to spend my time and money to pursue such aspirations because once the government decided to do it, they will have the budget for it. They said that it is too hard running to all these polytechnics with the hope that they could render me the support and of course they were right as usual.

Love, light, peace, harmony and unity,
Sunflower Chong

I am a real estate agent, when I closed a rental for a bungalow 3 years ago I got $20 thousand commission. I told my owner who shared my aspiration that I wanted to use this money to do this animation “Butterfly Story”, but he stopped me and said that it was only a drop in the ocean. He said that the time was not right yet:(

A man found a butterfly cocoon. One day, a small opening appeared, and the man sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through the tiny hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and could go no farther. At this point, the man decided to help the butterfly.

He took a pair of scissors and snipped the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. Something was strange, however. The butterfly had a swollen body and shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time. Neither happened. In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and deformed wings. It was never able to fly.

What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the small opening of the cocoon are Nature’s way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon. Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life.

If we were allowed to go through all our life without any obstacles, that would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been. Not only that, we could never fly.

Beautiful and Complex

The Butterfly is beautiful and complex, and fills us with wonder. We think of Nature’s creation all around us and how the Butterfly fulfills its part in this complex and marvelous world.

Struggles and hardships in life hone our spirits. Struggle is a challenge and this challenge gives meaning to our lives.

Sacrifice is true Love. Sacrifice has been part of society as far back as history goes and is meaningful to most religions. On a universal note, sacrifice is a positive thing. Fasting and diets are good for our bodies and minds. Giving up an easy life for a hard one can build character. Sacrifice for our family is inbuilt as a way to survive and nurture the young. Sacrifice for friends and a stranger is the ultimate of love. Letting go of pride and stubborn beliefs for the sake of harmony is real love. Sacrifice is another way of taking responsibility – an end to apathy and a positive feeling that each one of us can make a difference

Touching others

As we touch others with our love, they are often changed and they too will pass it on, creating a ripple effect around the world. This is a way to fertilise minds and we believe it can be a powerful movement for good.

Short life

We must make the most of our life and touch as many people as we can.

Change in our lives and character from immature to adult. From discord to knowing peace, harmony and love. From self centred to loving and caring. From material to spiritual.

Hi Sunflower,

The storyline as followed:
The scene starts off quietly and unassumingly.
A cocoon rests quietly amongst the leaves.
Suddenly the cocoon shifts a little and rustles the leaves.
It drops and falls.
A pair of hands capture it in mid-air.
It starts to glow in the hands.
Cracks appear and more glows emit from it.
Finally the cocoon breaks apart and a glowing butterfly flutters
upwards from the hands.
Sparkles follow with it.
The initial downpayment would be $3000.

Thanks and with regards,
Aric @ Mediafreaks

we will get for example do the cocoon appear from the
leave or in short the story line and secondly how much
deposit we got to give to you.

Why I’m writing to MM Lee?

Dear MM Lee,

I wish you the best of health. On 28 November 2011 I wrote to you with regards to the Palestinian people’s struggle for a homeland Today I am writing to seek your permission to allow World Harmony Day platform to rally for  the LIBERATION of PALESTINE.

Your wisdom inspires me. When my teacher said that if the world does not care for the Palestinian people, then Palestine will disappear from the map of the World, I knew that you could guide me in my quest to help the Palestinians. I’m sure you  would not want that to happen to the poor Palestinian people because you fought tooth and nail for our beloved Singapore and hence you must be able to feel their pain and sorrow.

Without Singapore we are nothing, and thanks to you, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew, we stand tall in the eyes of the world. Similarly, without Palestine, the Palestinians have been treated worse then poorly treated livestock in their own country by Zionist Israel. I hope you can give the Palestinians your support by allowing us ordinary Singaporeans to play our part in striving for greater humanity, and we pray that is not too much to ask from  our Singapore Government.

This was what President Obama said on December 2009 while accepting the Nobel Peace Prize in his acceptance speech, “Let us reach for the world that ought to be — that spark of the divine that still stirs within each of our souls.” This was exactly what we were doing on World Harmony Day 2003, but unfortunately, due to the coming Iraq war, one of the Ministers turned our event upside down.

World Harmony Day 2003 at the Youth Park

Our pure actions did not harm Singapore in any way and we hoped that they, in fact, enhanced our reputation as a nation in support of peace and harmony. We were so troubled that the authorities thought WHD members were terrorists in the making, it was heartbreaking. I am sure that after viewing the video, you will think otherwise.

Everyone who attended that night could feel that all the members’ souls were genuinely striving for greater humanity which is so necessary in our troubled times. And especially in these times when Zionist Israel is adamant in their desire to bomb Iran! On that night, the people had given us a thumbs up and asked us not to give up, no matter what! I don’t expect our government to give me the THUMBS UP, but I sincerely hope the government will allow us to support the Palestinian people’s struggle for a homeland. Silence is a crime and I do not want to be a criminal! And I hope you feel the same.

I believe now is the time that I can open my heart to you without reservation and my sixth sense tells me that you are ready to listen to me with an open heart because we cannot turn away any more. My mother, Lim Soon Heng, said that Lee Kuan Yew is a reasonable man and he will listen if what we want to do is for the good of Singapore. Our foreign policy should not be one way traffic, and as PM Lee Hsien Loong said, we must have the right politics and the right politics now are to change our mindset that the WEST is not our protector!! The right politics for me are to give the Palestinian people my full support that allow us to strive for greater humanity. Even the Good Israelis and American Jews are in agreement to give the Palestinians a Homeland, so why are we silent?

I sincerely hope the Singapore  Government can do more for Palestine, but even if we are not on the same page, please allow and support the caring Singaporeans like me to play our part because this is what is expected of us from Almighty God. I LOVE GOD VERY VERY MUCH so I must also obey God’s law which means JUSTICE MUST PREVAIL!

Your’s sincerely,
Chong Sun Wah

Why I took the Spiritual Path?

What If Money Did Not Matter?

You Evil Zionist Jews you keep deleting the video on my blogs why are you so afraid that people are watching this video which is a true fact of the Capitalist world making us your modern slaves!

My teacher said if we take the spiritual path we will hear God’s purpose for us in this world. She told us we are here not to make money but instead we are here for a Higher Purpose. She also said that when you take the spiritual path, you will look young even as you age because you are not chasing after money but living for a higher purpose that feeds your soul. In short, it means finding the meaning of our life. Striving only for survival creates FEAR. I want to EXCEL against all odds, hence I need to have great courage and take risks. To make a breakthrough through perseverance and not yielding to fear, that, for me,is what my life is all about. Finding God’s purpose for me in a world in which I do not feel I belong is my life’s journey.

Never in my wildest dreams would I have expected the voice that spoke to my consciousness almost 50 years ago after walking whispering that my goal is to Liberate Palestine. I know it sounds crazy to your ears but it did to mine too:)

The Palestinian cause is worth my every fiber to pursue as my DNA is Fairness and Justice. This was what Steven said in his mail to me when he agreed to come on board with our team which now comprises 7 members;

“I think what you’re trying to achieve is wonderful, and in fact can work and bring about change, as it has been done in many other movements around the world. If no one does this, then who will? We must be the change we wish to see in the world, and we have to start somewhere to begin that change. I also appreciate your sentiment in wanting to use my services. That makes me feel like my life is giving something good to someone who deserves only the very best, and a cause that will hopefully bring about a change in the world for the better for everyone.”

At the end of my R&D into Capitalism V Spirituality, I discovered the real power lies in the spiritual awareness of your Conscious Mind and if you know how to harness it, it will be your greatness asset because it is your foundation for inner growth.

When we were young, it was constantly DRUMMED into our minds that we must study to make money instead of the purpose of education being to produce wholesome and well balanced children. The education system focuses on the brain to make money instead of the heart to bring about a better society, and this has brought great pain to the world! We were sold on the idea by the West that “Capitalism is Progress and Success” but the repercussion of that philosophy is an erosion of the good traditional values of honesty, integrity and charity that have been our foundation. They are replaced by greed, ambition and guile.

Capitalism has NO HEART, so how can we progress without a heart? We must CARE and then there is HOPE for all HUMANITY! In fact, Capitalism has robbed us of our collective souls which are the true foundation of every nation. My teacher warned us to stay human in a Capitalist world. We must develop our Consciousness or else GREED will be the POISON by which we will lose our sanity and the meaning of our life. After you have viewed the below video, you will understand what I am trying to convey to you.

Where is Humanity?

Well, this is the reality of what Capitalism has done to many people who do not possess a strong character or a good character.  WE JUST DON’T SEEM TO CARE UNLESS IT MAKES MONEY! IN SHORT, CAPITALISM HAS ROBBED US OF OUR SOUL and SOUL=COMPASSION. If you look at the bigger picture, it is like what is happening to the Palestinian people. The world has lacked compassion and the world has kept silent and SILENCE IS A CRIME!

“Once a government resorts to terror against its own population to get what it wants, it must keep using terror against its own population to get what it wants. A government that terrorizes its own people can never stop. If such a government ever lets the fear subside and rational thought return to the populace, that government is finished.” — Michael Rivero

Henry David Thoreau once said, “I love to be alone. I never found the companion that was so companionable as solitude.”

But I am difference I have 2 constant companions, they are ALLAH and my SOUL:) I am truly blessed in every sense of the word. My greatest wealth is my HEALTH:)

“Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.”

Dalai Lama XIV

I couldn’t have agreed more. I never forget what my mother said, “Ah Mui ah, when you go crazy the people follow you and go crazy too.” And frankly speaking World Harmony Day 2002 event was really a crazy one but so very happy and fulfilling one:)

I’m SUNFLOWER…You’re What?

After I have introduced myself as Sunflower Chong the normal reply will be, “You’re what?”  Or when I was on the phone they would say. “I didn’t order any flowers.”  Sunflower is my name that came out of a blue from the spirit of my soul:)

I Am A ‘Free Spirit’, Born In The Year Of The Horse

In the Chinese horoscope, I am born in the year of a ‘Horse’. I called myself a ‘wild horse’ because no one can possess my mind, spirit and soul except Almighty God.

“I am the kaleidoscope of the mind
I impart light, color and perpetual motion
I think, I see, I’m moved by electric fluidity
Constant only in my inconsistency
I’m unshackled by mundane goals
I run unimpeded through virgin paths
My spirit unconquered
My soul forever free”

After sharing all my architecture visions with Matsunaga San from Shimizu, he asked me, “Sunflower San, what are you?  You are not an architect by profession, you just open your mouth and things get done.”

My replied to him, “I am what you want me to be, I am a free Spirit, born in the year of a horse.  I am a wild horse with ‘The Consciousness’ as my Spirit, who run freely with a sense of direction to embrace the spirit of God’s love.”

For a free spirit like me (and not a free thinker like most Singaporeans) living in a constrain environment like Singapore I take it as a challenge.  I will rise up with my talents through creativity to claim a little bit of Singapore, and I will achieve it gracefully and graciously without stepping on anyone ‘Big Toe’.  I have the belief, talent and great passion; all I need to do is to acquire the skill to go around the rigid system to allow me to bring out all my ‘Grand Vision for Singapore and the future world’.

My Name Sunflower – The First Sign Of ‘The Consciousness’

Finding Faith In The Flower

I came not,
To this world on my will

I came not,
To conquer these green fields

I came not,
To control but instead to feel

But above all I came with love,
To serve and contribute

When your faith is running low,
Do think of Sunflower and you will find a glow.

Sunflower Chong is a Visionary

“My Vision is to unite ALL Religions.
“My Mission is to find the FORMULA to make it happen” – Sunflower Chong

The Formula is “WORLD HARMONY DAY”

What we understand from this is that Harmony is so important for us when the world is going through so many changes and due to globalization the world seemed to get smaller and smaller.

Thus, we need to understand and define what sort of World we wish to create and it comes down to one word; HARMONY.

– Religious Harmony
– Racial Harmony
– Work Harmony
– Family Harmony

An ardent art lover Sunflower believes that art is a vehicle to reach a higher power. In short she is an ‘Enigma’, putting all her faith in her Creator. She follows the sweet mystery in life and this spiritual path never cease to amaze even the closest to her.

What carries Sunflower through life is her own special belief that all will be taken care of. Her determination and will power is a rare show of faith and belief. Having escaped from her first Lebanese husband from Abu Dhabi, armed with nothing but her 2 children, she returned to Singapore and with tears written a poem “Let me enhance Worldwide Unity with share, care and love by understanding people’s need”

Let Me Enhance Worldwide Unity With Share, Care And Love By Understanding People’s Needs.

God I am not, but an expression,
And a gift of God.
Saint I am not,
Nor a Saint would I try to be.

An ordinary being I am,
Born with qualities true,
To work for my country’s needs,
And the aspirations of its people.

At times I am not what you see or what I am,
With time I hope you will understand me.
Though I like not its sham, drudgery and broken dreams,
This world still is a beauty shining with ‘welcome beams.’

In fact I am contended and very happy,
I am still alive and free,
Especially on my return to Singapore,
Where many duties await me.

My devotion and loyalty are strong and even mighty,
That I may contribute fully to our lost society.
Let us not lose another twenty-five years,
If you can lend me your ears,

My special task is help us to achieve an identity,
To foster the people’s happiness and unity.
This great mission that I shoulder, will it be too big for me I wonder?
Am I ready, to take on such a great responsibility?

To achieve what I feel God wants of me,
The people’s support and understanding I seek.
The only answer to counter I believe,
Is the fostering of Universal LOVE as our Belief?

Religion is pure and good,
If there is only ONE to believe.
It can be mean and nasty,
When different sects contend to lead,

Please listen carefully to me,
Lend me your ears if you are not too busy,
Your full attention I need,
To understand all my yearnings and beliefs.

To reach our goal of unity,
Let’s build with one identity,
Preached goodness, give kindness,
Conducted in fairness, strive for Inner Happiness.

– To grow strong roots of true unity; Act in them is our first necessity – Sunflower 1983

Receiving little education from school, having failed her O-Levels at the age of 16 years old, she was born in a time when it was thought that it was not necessarily for women to have higher education. For her the School of Life is ‘The Life the University through Experiences’. In short, the world is her universities and the experiences are her teachers.

A natural adventure seeker, she went to the Gulf War as the only woman there to bring the Russians to put out the oil wells fire. She has written proposals on new forms of Architecture and presented it to the authority. Unfortunately, they stubbed her due to various reasons.

As a Singaporean she has a deep sense of duty and responsibility following the S21 spirit, long before the campaign started. This is just one of the examples amongst the numerous others.

Taunted by many people as radicalism and an idealist she never once changed her principals for the sake of conformity. Her unorthodox way of living life has also drawn much criticism but her deepest satisfaction is that her family has complete trust and respect for her dreams and aspirations.

She is a devoted and a patient mother of two. Gabriel, her son 23 years old and her daughter Greta 21 years old support her cause ardently. In fact, World Harmony Day was an initial mother and daughter effort, which blossomed into a full team working World Harmony Day.

Gabriel said, “The dreams must go on, but my education can stop”. He has been a silent pillar of strength to both women and they are a family with great passion because her values passed to them – ‘Share, Care and Love by Understanding People’s Need’.

Her understanding that there is Creator’s Law and Man’s Law and Creator’s Job (Compel by ‘The Consciousness’) and Man’s Job (It is all about Survival). Both she tried to fulfilled to her best ability, as she is taking the middle road.

Even with little in their bank account, they are still preserving for a greater cause as the banks in their hearts are filled with richness from working on World Harmony Day.

I’m Siti Mariam Noor

“Humans see Perfection in Allah and Allah sees His Perfection in the human being”and “The earth and the universe do not contain Me but what contains Me is the heart of a believer!”

I Became A Muslim In 1996

I, Chong Sun Wah Muslim name is Siti Mariam Noor. I became a Muslim when I saw the name Mariam not in my dream but when I took a nap. Here how it happened, after a business trip from Indonesia I was so tired that I took a nap and before 7pm I woke up and when I opened my eyes I saw the word ‘Mariam‘. ( At 7pm normally the sky is already dark but on this special evening I can still see some light.) I called Professor Bennett right away and asked him if I was going to be a Muslim what name would he gives me. He said MARIAM. That was it and that was what I needed to hear to give me the courage and confident to be a Muslim. This was the signal that showed me the path to Allah.

Life is beautiful and I got to thank Steve Black an American from the bottom of my heart for inspiring me with the idea to write, without which ‘My Soul Journey’  would still be kept in the closet for almost 20 years.  I really hope that all of you share my belief that this tiny red dot, Singapore can be the ‘Brain and Soul of the World’.

‘To Be The Brain’ – I wish Singapore could come out with revolutionary ideas to shape the future world through Great Architecture.  (Especially in Marina South Downtown.)

‘To Be The Soul’ – I hope the rise of the World Great Renaissances will sprout from this tiny red dot to write a book for humanity that is long overdue.  This book for humanity will be HUMANITY greatest prize.

Fortunate for me as I move along with this ‘so-called progressed’ world, I have never failed to hear the gentle voice of the wind whispering softly to my ears; hence as I walk the journey of my life, I always reminded myself to remember to take time to notice the beauty of the flowers at my feet and as I looked up towards the blue skies felt the golden ray of hope shining brightly on my face – like God is smiling at me and with me, isn’t this lovely? I am indeed a blessed soul because I never left my spiritual partner behind, thus I have not loss the appreciation of the little wonders of life that nature and spirituality has to offer.

The Capitalist world has not eroded ‘My Consciousness’, because I managed to stay alive by having God’s presence closed to ‘My Soul’.  As far as I can remember I have been looking for God.  As a young child I always asked,  “Where are you Almighty God, which is your true house?”  If I have not embarked on my lifelong journey in search for that ‘voice’ that I had heard in my dreams, I might not have found ALLAH.

“Ah Sun-flower! weary of time,
Who countest the steps of the Sun:
Seeking after that sweet golden clime
Where the travellers journey is done.
Where the Youth pined away with desire,
And the pale Virgin shrouded in snow:
Arise from their graves and aspire,
Where my Sun-flower wishes to go.” – William Blake

“I want to be with Allah, but before I go to be with Him I must first complete my job in this Earth.” – Sunflower Chong

It all started from a childhood dream – the ‘Voice’ in my dream said that one day the people would listen to my voice.  How bazaar this dream was and it kept occurring in the midst of my solitude and in my loneliness too?  The Chinese people believed that dreams were messages from God and I was intrigued to find out why the people would listen to an ordinary girl like me, therefore I have decided to dedicate my life to strive to listen more clearly to this ‘Voice’.  My journey began from the consciousness of my new name Sunflower and the endless voyage that finally brought me to the insight that we need to learn how to share this One World.  This means that for peace and harmony to prevail we have to work towards bringing to the ‘collective consciousness‘ of the human race the idea and desire for World Harmony.

As a Muslim I got a duty to put the matter right on what Islam is all about? “Everything I do is for the pleasure of Allah” – Cat Stevens

Islam means complete submission or surrender to the will of Allah.
Islam also mean:

a) Peace
b) the way to achieve peace
c) submission or surrender

“Islam teaches that there is only one God, who is called Allah in Arabic. He has created all and is above all things in the universe, and there is no one and nothing, which is like Him or can be compared to Him. God loves us, and for our guidance and benefit has sent his commandments and laws through persons specially chosen by Him who are called prophets or messengers of God.”

Prophet Muhammad is the last messenger of God. The new messengers of God are the people with “The Consciousness.” We who believe in Allah will shine for Allah through our deeds.

I am who I am now and I strongly believe that strong influence comes from my teacher who shares with us the power of our sub-consciousness and to listen to our inner voice. She told us God created us not just to live to make money or to chase after money and more money. She said that we are here for a higher purpose and each of us must discover what that purpose is. I was young and curious and the best thing she said to us was that when you surrendered to Almighty God He will not fail you. And I have surrendered to Allah till the ripe old age of 61 years old and will live forever.

Dear Sunflower,

Things have been happening around me lately regarding the word HARMONY. Let me explain the best I can.

First and foremost, there is a massive global transformation occurring on this planet. Humanity is shifting to a higher level of Consciousness. This is happening both individually and collectively. Some individuals are leading the way while others (like the Bush regime and the Middle East regime ) are lagging behind. In effect, there is a new society being formed while the old society is collapsing. This event has been predicted and prophesied for centuries by all religious and cultures although their translation of the event has varied and has mainly focused on the collapsing of the old. This collapsing has been translated as Armageddon and the end of the world by some factions. I see it as a divine and positive step for humanity and one that is predestined to happen. I also know we all have the choice whether to experience this transformation in a negative way or a positive way… it is up to us. People who have chosen the positive route I call World Harmony Networkers.

Within this network is group we call the the New Paradigm Pioneers, or just Pioneers for short. The Pioneers are hand picked individuals who are on the leading of this Consciousness shift. Since 5th January this group has been involved in an online (internet conferences) course refining and coordinating their knowledge and understanding into a form that can be presented to new people to help them in their transformational process. We plan to set up training centres initially in Australia and new Zealand and then in other countries to assist people who are ready to make the shift. We are also planning to establish a prototype new society in NZ where we will bring together all the components we have, like new energy technologies, and health generation, new building materials and methods, natural agriculture, etc.

The Pioneers have been discussing means to help us make this shift in Consciousness. We came to the conclusion that we need to define what sort of world we wish to create and it came down to one word; HARMONY. For example, I received the following this morning from Eve, one of the Pioneers:

    Just my slant on harmony:
I feel with reference to musical notes – each of us vibrate on a slightly
different level or tone but when the tones are compatible
they come together and the sound is complete and simply beautiful – Like
Nina’s songs.  As you reach out and touch each and every one of our energies
you can feel the uniqueness of them. With harmony we must remember that we
can be compatible without having to be exactly the same. Nor would we wish
to. Variety is certainly what makes life so very exciting and songs things
    of wonder.

In the meantime, about 10 days ago, I was introduced to a woman who lives in California called Christina Grace. This is what she wrote as part of an overall project:

Our planet has been called ‘Earth’. The intention is for every country on the planet to be signatories to a United Nations resolution renaming the planet Earth to planet ‘Peace’. Renaming the planet could easily change the planet’s frequency.  It could be easily changed through the spoken word of ‘Peace’ and the psychological and spiritual concepts inherent in it.  Everything is built up from vibrational states, resonate frequencies and harmonics.  The idea is through billions of people calling the planet ‘Peace’ and referring to it as ‘Peace’, the planet would change its vibratory rate.

I spoke with her on two occasions and I suggested the name for Earth should not be Peace, but HARMONY, and she immediately agreed. The concept of “peace” is contained in the concept of harmony plus a lot more.

So it has been pretty well agreed all round that we focus on HARMONY as and for our world.

Accordingly, I believe we are on the brink of creating a new HARMONIC WAVE that will envelop our Planet HARMONY.

If you resonate with this idea then we can start to create something far more meaningful than anything we have done before.

With Love & Harmony… Trevor

Who Are We & What Are We Doing Here

The Real You – Alan Watts

When I was a student, my teacher enlightened us on the power of the conscious mind and she said that without the consciousness you can’t reach the subconscious. She even told us this subconscious is so powerful like God talking to us or vice verse. But she said that without feeling you cannot develop your consciousness and feeling comes from the heart. In 1969 my principal Ms Yeo Lai Cheng said that one day Singapore needs the hearts and not just the brains if Singapore is to live on forever.

The universe is enormous,
Turning on its axis.
To comprehend its complexity,
Is at the edge of destruction gradually.
No greater force but only God can control our course.
Creation is reality real force,
Is the sign of existence of God?
Changes is a must for progress and progress is as metamorphosis.
For people in search of God favor,
There is the need to be closed with people and nature?
Science and technology are fine,
With God by your side, you will be riding high.
There is no need to prove God existence,
Cause there is only one God, belonging to all.
Consciousness is indefinable, yet it’s remarkable,
Giving us a sense of serenity to guide us to strive for greater humanity.

“Our Strengths lie not in the paper money nor the paper qualifications. Instead, God’s gift to us is truly our Real Strengths.” – Sunny Chong

My teacher also told us that though God gave us, many attributes and strengths, many failed to see them.. Many are unaware of the presence of these as capitalism has taken over our state of mind and made us believe that the only two strengths we have is the piece of paper qualifications and the paper note, money.

Little do people realize that though this piece of paper qualifications may be able to help secure good jobs , it does not prepare one for life. If the classroom knowledge acquired in school is not translated to actual actions to make life more meaningful and better, the paper qualifications would be no different from a piece of waste paper. This was what my mother often told us when we were young. The piece of paper qualifications is only of value when the system that we are governed by and our society gives it value. However, if the system seeks experiences of life, then a person who equipped with the paper qualifications will be no match compared to those who are well enriched by life experiences and knowledge. But if one has both the life experience and paper qualifications, then one would stand in good steed in any job interview. Paper notes will depreciated in value overtime.. Why are we talking about war lately? The underlying fact of the matter is that other countries have lost faith in the green paper money and wanted to exchange for gold.

But when we anchor onto spirituality, we become fully aware of our true gifts that God had bestowed upon us and if we know how to apply these gifts into our daily lives, this consciousness will not only help us to succeed in life but allow us to excel in ways beyond our imagination. This knowledge excites me and the curiosity about the unknown has kept me going in chasing my dreams. There is no life if there is no dream and my life is rich because I got not just one dream but many:)

Let Me Enhance Worldwide Unity With Share, Care And Love By Understanding People’s Needs.

God I am not, but an expression,
And a gift of God.
Saint I am not,
Nor a Saint would I try to be.

An ordinary being I am,
Born with qualities true,
To work for my country’s needs,
And the aspirations of its people.

At times I am not what you see or what I am,
With time I hope you will understand me.
Though I like not its sham, drudgery and broken dreams,
This world still is a beauty shining with ‘welcome beams.’

In fact I am contended and very happy,
I am still alive and free,
Especially on my return to Singapore,
Where many duties await me.

My devotion and loyalty are strong and even mighty,
That I may contribute fully to our lost society.
Let us not lose another twenty-five years,
If you can lend me your ears,

My special task is help us to achieve an identity,
To foster the people’s happiness and unity.
This great mission that I shoulder, will it be too big for me I wonder?
Am I ready, to take on such a great responsibility?

To achieve what I feel God wants of me,
The people’s support and understanding I seek.
The only answer to counter I believe,
Is the fostering of Universal LOVE as our Belief?

Religion is pure and good,
If there is only ONE to believe.
It can be mean and nasty,
When different sects contend to lead,

Please listen carefully to me,
Lend me your ears if you are not too busy,
Your full attention I need,
To understand all my yearnings and beliefs.

To reach our goal of unity,
Let’s build with one identity,
Preached goodness, give kindness,
Conducted in fairness, strive for Inner Happiness.

The Success in Education is when the children know how to tap into their inner strength but first the teacher must let them know there is a bigger power within like what my teacher had told us during a class discussion on spirituality that we got to listen to our inner voice.

My Principal Ms Yeo Lai Cheng told us in 1969 on a Friday assembly that one day Singapore will need the Hearts and not just the Brains.

For almost 4 decades our education only focus on the brain instead of the heart this is why we are witnessing a selfish society who only ask what is in for them. Even after the government had given so much they still ask for more including the rich and intellectual ones. If we have educated their hearts they will have gratitude and will be asking what I can do for the country instead of telling me off for giving free ideas to the government and spoil the market for them!

“The Buddha considered gratitude as a great virtue, yet it is very rare. Yes, it is true that this virtue is rare in any society. You cannot always expect other people to be grateful for what you have done for them. People are inclined to be forgetful especially when it comes to remembering favours. If you expect gratitude, learn to accept them as such – then you can avoid disappointment. You can be happy regardless of whether people are grateful or ungrateful for your kindness or help; you need only think that you have done your duty as a human being to your fellow beings.  That should be the only reward you should seek.”

Why We Must Educate The Heart?

How Moral Character Classes Play a Role in the Education System in India

On Straits Times dated 21st May 2013 this was what Deputy Prime Minister Teo said, “Engaging the public is a key part of the work of the civil service, said Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean yesterday. He called on public officers to support their colleagues at the front line.

In his message to public officers at the start of Public officers at the start of Public Service week yesterday, he said, “All of us must see front-line work as a key part of the work of our agencies. And we must provide our front-line officers with support, training, resources so that they can serve the public in the spirit of mutual respect and courtesy.”

When you have educated the heart you do not need to remind them what they need to do because the heart knows what need to be done to build a harmonious society. Don’t ever forget it is the people with the heart that not only built a country but when the country falls on hard time this group of people will anchor to the country. I never forget what my uneducated mother Lim Soon Heng said, “It is the uneducated people with the heart that had put PAP in power and hence it is important that they do not forget this group of people.” In the late 60’s the government only focus on the 5% elitists and the people without the brains were left behind. For sure the clever ones without the heart will take the first flight to greener pasture when the country falls on bad times.

I am spiritual in nature so when I look at the word “Heart” I see two words ‘He’ and ‘Art’. The message I receive from the two words is; to reach God and Art is through the heart. In short, art is love and love is God Almighty or Striving for Greater Humanity. My teacher told us to love God is to love Humanity :)

Let me share with you my short experience of 7 days working as a Student Supervisor at a Christian Hostel.

I went for the first interview in March and before I can open my mouth she rattled non stop about her friend Carol who wanted to quit the job. Carol is Ms Y personal friend. Ms Y told me Carol was ungrateful and she was most disappointed when Carol told Ms Y she did not take her as a friend but colleague. This remark speaks a lot about Ms Y character. I just kept quiet and let her talk. When she said she did not want me to be close to the students like what Ms Carol did I was really shocked because the job titled is ‘Student Supervisor’ and I believe I should care for their well-being especially their parents were not living in Singapore! Ms Y told me we are not their mother. I just felt it was wrong for the Assistant Director to tell the new Student Supervisor (which is me) not to be close to the students when I understood my job title is to care for the students.

What I deem wrong when she told me not to care for the JC 2 and the SEC Four students because they are going to leave the school in five month time. But to me it makes no difference because as long as they are under the care of the hostel we must care for them! If that is her value she should keep it to herself instead of pushing her value to my throat or a polite way of saying it was wrong to impose her value onto me. She might give me the job but I cannot follow her order when I deem wrong. Looking after 150 students you got to be a mother like what the Principal said to me during the interview. She told me she needs a motherly figure for the 150 students and I told her I am the perfect candidates. If the Assistant Director is not happy with the government sponsoring the Asean scholars and other scholars then she should keep it to herself. She also told me the government will soon stop this program.

On my 7th day of work which is 3rd May 2013 at 6pm I was called to see me in her office. Immediately I went to her office and she sat me down and told me, “Last night I went to your blogs and this morning I went to see the Principal to let her decides whether you can stay. After reviewing the blogs the Principal said that you are a bad influence to the students and she wants you out by today.”

I was quiet all the while so when she asked me do I have anything more to say I told her nothing because frankly speaking what else can I say when she caught me ‘red handed’ in a way. Instead I thank her for the opportunity and left her office. In fact I got so… much to say!

The Real Reason Why the Assistant Director wanted me OUT!

The blog was the best weapon for her to get rid of me. Let me start from the beginning how I came to know about this job. I know of this job through my primary one schoolmate. The Assistant Director wanted her friend to take the job but instead she asked her sister. Her sister is my primary schoolmate and while we were on the phone she said she got this job offer but the place is too far then I said that it is just 2 bus stop from my place why don’t I go instead. The job is 5 day a week and start from 6-11pm including dinner and they will pay $70 per day. She told me this job is good for me because she knew I love children very much. So I was highly recommended to the Assistant Director.

This is the English translation of the main prayer of Islam Al Fatihah the Opening, the rendition of which in English is influenced by Sir Richard Burton the Sufi. We all want to follow the path of those who have seen the Love of Allah while on earth because God’s Love is Hidden for the rest of us until we die. That is why the world is full of heavy tests and trials.

Allah is Guyubul Ghaib on earth meaning that Allah is the Most Hidden of all the things that are hidden while we are on earth.

The tests and trials on earth are like the bad dreams that we have which burst when we get up from bed. As long as the dream lasts we think that they are real. They are within sleep very real, time consuming, makes us sweat but the moment we get up the bubble of pain or fear bursts. This is exactly why Islamic philosophers call this world imaginable nor imaginary.

The Last Prophet and Messenger Muhammad said “Humanity is asleep. When they die they awake!” and the Quran mentions that at the moment of death the meaning of the following verse becomes clear

“This day we have removed the veil from your eyes and this day your vision is clear ” (Quran 50/22)

There is a tradition (hadith) that God’s Rahmah or Loving Magnanimity is divided into 100 parts and only one part is given for our worldly life and 99 parts for the hereafter.

Never think any evil about Allah because evil has no intrinsic reality. It is a bubble that bursts when you die naturally like your bad dreams.

For those who have done good or who have aspired sincerely to do good, there are rewards ten times and immeasurably more but if you have done wrong you are given the recompense of the same gravity because God does not do any injustice not even by one single atom. Actually hell is the nursing mother of those therein as the Quran states so clearly “Jaheem Ummuhu” (Hell is his mother)

Of course the spiritual hospital is painful even though it is described as metaphorical fire in the Quran because its purpose is to make sinners absolutely pure and thus able to go to eternal heaven.

But some mystics don’t want heaven they want Allah. They can’t see Allah with their eyes but in the vision of a purified heart.
